Last Memory

Last Memory is a VR horror survival experience set in a Catalan village during the aftermath of the Spanish Civil War.

The game was developed by a team of 4 people as a short VR demo project.

The game puts you in the role of an elderly man haunted by deeply repressed trauma. During the war, he witnessed the death of his best friend, an event that has left a lasting psychological scar.

Trapped inside what feels like a distorted memory or nightmare, the protagonist is guided by the voice of his deceased friend, which accompanies him throughout the experience and helps him push forward in search of an escape.

The environment is dark, oppressive, and covered in dense fog, limiting visibility and creating a constant sense of uncertainty. The player must move through narrow alleyways of a ruined village while facing hostile, deformed figures—perceived as war-twisted echoes of the past, interpreted as zombie-like threats through the protagonist’s fractured perception.

The gameplay focuses on exploration and survival with free locomotion VR movement. Combat is grounded in resource management and tension. You begin only with a machete, forcing close-quarters encounters in the early stages. Later, you acquire a pistol and must carefully manage ammunition using a belt system with space for three magazines. Each magazine contains 10 bullets, making every shot and decision meaningful.

The experience lasts approximately 5-10 minutes, designed as a short but intense VR demo that explores the psychological weight of post-war trauma, where memory, reality, and nightmare constantly blur.
